WATERLOO REGION — There are a handful of Remembrance Day ceremonies and services to attend on Wednesday.

The weather is expected to be sunny with a high of 8 C. Here is a list of ceremonies in Waterloo Region and what will be open and closed on Wednesday:

 

Ceremonies in the region:

 

• The Kitchener parade begins at 10:15 a.m. at the corner of Duke and Ontario streets and the ceremony starts at 10:45 a.m. at the cenotaph at Frederick Street and Duke Street.

• The Waterloo parade begins at 10:15 a.m. at 19 Regina St. N. and arrives at the cenotaph for a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at 100 Regina St. S.

• In Galt, there will be a ceremony at the Queen's Square, at 11 a.m. followed by music and refreshments at Idea Exchange Cambridge library, nearby.

• In Preston there will a ceremony at the cenotaph at 334 Westminster Dr. N. at 11 a.m.

• In Hespeler there will a ceremony at the cenotaph at the corner of Queen and Tannery streets beginning at 10:30 a.m.

 

Here is what's open and closed:

 

• Governments and banks have a statutory holiday Nov. 11. All regional and some municipal offices are closed.

• Region of Waterloo children's centres are closed.

• Cambridge and Waterloo small vehicle transfer waste stations are closed.

• All libraries and most recreational facilities are open except for Bridgeport, Doon Pioneer Park, Rockway and downtown community centres, which are closed.

• The Kitchener Aud administration office and box office are closed but the building will be open for rentals.

• The City of Waterloo museum is closed. Waterloo Region Museum, Joseph Schneider Haus and McDougall Cottage are open.

• Curbside waste and recycling collection will continue as usual.

• Grand River Transit will operate on a regular schedule.
